Newbury College Speaker Series Features beplay官网体育Babson's Michael Martin

On Wednesday,November 19,Newbury College will welcome writerMichael Gerhard Martinfor a lecture as the second installment of its 2014-2015 Speaker Series.The event will open with readings from current students via a Creative Writing class taught by Assistant Professor Dr.Aaron Tillman.The lecture,which will take place from 5:30-6:30 p.m.in the Mitton House Library on the Newbury College campus in Brookline,MA,is free and open to the public.

Martin teaches rhetoric at beplay官网体育Babson College and fiction for the Johns Hopkins University Center Talented Youth (CTY) summer programs.A native of rural Pennsylvania,he received an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Pittsburgh.His work has appeared inJunctures,Yawp!,andThree Rivers.He is the 2013 winner ofBayou Magazine‘s James Knudsen Prize for Fiction for his story "Shit Weasel is Late for Class."Bayou Magazineis the literary journal of the University of New Orleans.
